Ever wondered exactly what all the different classes you see around and about are actually offering you, or which practice would suit you most on any given day? Here is a simple summary of what's on offer at CG Yoga.
Restorative
A super gentle relaxation using props and very mild movement to ease tension from both mind and body. Perfect after a busy week, or a heavy workout session, or if you just fancy a bit of a chill out.
Yin
Static yoga postures done mostly seated or reclining with long held postures (2-6 minutes) to get deep into the the connective tissues and joints - the parts that other yoga often does not reach! Yin is very meditative and calming, providing the space and time to look within and really surrender to the moment as well as raise body awareness. It can be very challenging for people in today's busy world. It is a wonderful complement to other types of yoga practice as well as other sports and promotes healing, a therapeutic practice.
Hatha
Traditional yoga postures sequenced to focus on certain areas of the body, or as a general practice for the whole body. Wonderful for strengthening and stretching both the mind and the body.
Vinyasa (Flow)
Probably familiar to most people who have some experience of yoga practice, flow is a dynamic, energetic practice that heats and strengthens the body linking postures to breath. Invigorating and strengthening.
Yin & Yang Flow
A combination of Vinyasa Flow and Yin, the practice is split between a more invigorating first half moving to a more mediative, Yin style in the later part of the class. A complete practice and work out. Stretch, strengthen and restore :)
Detox Flow
Another variation on a regular all-over flow class that incorporates multiple rotations (twists) specifically to promote cleansing of the lymph and excretory systems in the body - rotations gently stimulate the major internal organs and digestive system. Strengthen and restore mind and body.
