I’m Claire Graham, founder of CG Yoga & Wellness, and through my classes, workshops and related events, I hope to share my knowledge and love of yoga and holistic medicine with you. I am passionate about holistic health & wellbeing and making that accessible to all. As well as being a certified Yoga Teacher (E-RYT200, Yoga Alliance; YACEP), I am a trained Mindfulness teacher, Wellness Coach and Cosmic Kid's Yoga teacher. I am a BANT certified Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist via the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London. Nutritional therapy has been an enormous part of my personal health journey.
I completed my initial 200 hour yoga teacher training in Kerala, India in 2016 with my yoga teacher Rajeev. I was a student at his studio, Drishti Yoga Shala, in Shanghai, China, where I lived from 2010 to 2018. Now based in the Cotswolds in the UK, I have been practicing yoga regularly since 2007 and teaching since early 2016. My particular interest in Yin Yoga, for which I completed a 100 hour training in Bali in November 2017 (with Sebastian and Murielle of with-yinyoga.com), stems from being introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Daosim during my time in China. I am fascinated by the energetics of yoga and of food with the potential both hold for self-healing and self-care. More recently I have been immersing myself in the teachings of Mark Whitwell and The Heart of Yoga lineage (heartofyoga.com). This approach is a breath of fresh air and has had a profound effect on my own practice and life. Through reconnecting to our breath, hearts and bodies we can be in the flow of life, whatever comes up for us, whatever we may face.
I hope you will come to one of my classes to find out more or have a look at my blog for related reflections and articles on yoga and holistic health. I teach and practice a variety of styles. I offer one-to-ones as well as group classes adapting the practice to what your body and heart needs. Yoga is for everyone.
Today's world is stressful and its effects can be very destructive physically, mentally and emotionally. Yoga is a healing practice. We don't have to permanently struggle. For me, having a yoga practice provides a way in for maintaining my whole health and it has influenced how I live my life in every way. It is by no means the only tool in the toolkit, but it is certainly the foundation of my physical well-being, supports my mental health and contributes greatly to the maintenance of emotional balance in my life. I sincerely hope it will do for you what it has done for me and I look forward to seeing you on the mat soon.
